Autumn Blaze Maple Tree Care

Q. I planted an Autumn Blaze Maple last year.  Do I need to wrap the trunk again this year?

A. Young, thin barked trees like maples, ash, locust, aspen and most fruit trees will benefit from installing tree wrap to protect the trunk from Sunscald.  

Wrap the trees at Thanksgiving and remove the wrap at Easter. Continue each year until the tree starts to develop its characteristic rough adult bark.
