Lawn Preparation for Spring

Q:   Is it too early to start preparing the lawn for spring?

A:   Rake up old leaves.  Use a leaf rake to fluff up turf that is matted down from snow.

Core aerate the lawn as soon as the frost is out of the soil and when the soil is slightly moist. You can either rake up the plugs or leave them to break down naturally.
